Kyrgyzstan
Red with a yellow sun and tunduk.
History and symbolism
A yellow sun with 40 rays, one for each clan united by the epic hero Manas, sits on a red field around the tunduk, the crown of the yurt. First adopted in 1992, the flag was revised in December 2023, when the wavy rays were straightened so the sun would no longer look like a sunflower.
