Botswana
Light blue, white and black stripes.
History and symbolism
The light blue of water and rain frames a black stripe edged in white for racial harmony. Rain is so precious in the arid country that the national motto, Pula, means rain. The flag was designed by George Winstanley and adopted at independence on 30 September 1966.
